This EP is the first released recording by the Norwegian quartet Silver Lining. The first single off the EP, "Grey" has reached over 1 million streams on Spotify since its release in late 2016.
The four tracks on this EP give the listener an idea of what the band sounded like live when they first started out - it has a very stripped down, raw and folky feel to it.
Silver Lining's lyrics are heartbreakingly dark, and undeniably beautiful. The harmonies are pushed forward by the guitars, as well as the occasional dobro and pedal steel. All four members of Silver Lining are songwriters, singers and instrumentalists; and all contribute to the project with their own lyrics and musical preferences.
Their sound is inspired by artists like Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, Union Station, Joan Shelley, Joni Mitchell and The Milk Carton Kids.
